The District Administration of Pherzawl has launched a comprehensive public awareness campaign for Census 2027, touted as India’s most technologically advanced population survey. The initiative, supported by the Government of Manipur, involved gatherings in Parbung Village and the Pherzawl DC Office Complex, where officials outlined the timeline, procedures, and digital aspects of the census. House listing will occur from April 16 to May 15, 2026, preceded by a self-enumeration option via a mobile application from April 1 to April 15, 2026. Deputy Commissioner Mannuamching described this census as historic, incorporating a fully digital, two-phase enumeration process that includes caste-based data and over 34 updated data points reflecting socio-economic indicators. Officials stressed that the digital shift aims to improve accuracy, transparency, and efficiency, urging residents to participate actively and support enumerators. Additionally, an awareness campaign for the “Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act” was conducted, focusing on inclusive development, which replaces MGNREGA and guarantees 125 days of wage employment per rural household annually. The campaign concluded with a call for collective responsibility as Pherzawl engages in this significant national endeavor.
