PepsiCo India, in collaboration with The Social Lab (TSL), organized the 6th edition of its Plog Run at Poly Park, Dhulagarh, West Bengal, as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability through its ‘Partnership of Progress’ initiative. The event, aligned with the Swachh Bharat Mission, saw participation from over 200 volunteers and was flagged off by Gaurav Kumar, Plant Head – Kolkata, PepsiCo India, and local officials. Over 360 kg of waste was collected during the event, which will be segregated and recycled.
Prominent figures such as Smt. Amrita Burman Roy, SDO, Sadar, Howrah District, and Shri Buddhadeb Banerjee, Deputy GM, District Industrial Centre, Howrah, were present, reinforcing the importance of community-driven action for environmental sustainability.
Kolkata stands to benefit significantly from such initiatives. As a growing hub of commerce and industrial activity, efficient waste management is crucial for maintaining a sustainable ecosystem in the city. PepsiCo India’s efforts in the region highlight the need for corporates to collaborate with local communities for long-term environmental impact.
