On International Women’s Day, Indian Army Conducts Health Camps in 3 Northeast States

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Red Shield Division of the Indian Army implemented a variety of health and wellness initiatives in the northeastern states of Mizoram, Tripura, and Manipur. These initiatives were designed to promote preventive healthcare measures and enhance medical awareness among women and their families. According to an official announcement, the outreach activities specifically targeted crucial health issues while fostering community engagement in essential health practices.

In Aizawl, a significant HPV Vaccination Drive was held to combat cervical cancer, during which seven girls received the vaccination. This initiative marks a noteworthy advancement in protecting the health of young females in the region.

Moreover, in Agartala, a blood donation camp took place, attracting 35 participants, including women, who voluntarily donated blood. This act not only added to local medical resources but also exemplified the ethos of selfless community service.

Additionally, in Leimakhong, Manipur, a combined medical and dental health check-up camp along with an awareness lecture was organized. This event saw the participation of 125 women and their families, who gained valuable insights and services through professional medical screening as well as education on the importance of maintaining long-term dental and physical well-being. Overall, these initiatives reflect a commitment to improving women’s health and fostering community involvement in wellness practices.
