The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has solidified its commitment to driving sustainable finance forward by hosting a series of workshops in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI). Titled ‘Deep Dive in Green, Social, and Sustainability (GSS) Bonds Issuance Process,’ these workshops convened industry leaders and policymakers to explore innovative financial mechanisms aimed at advancing India’s sustainability agenda.
Held over two days in Mumbai and New Delhi, the workshops attracted participants from various sectors eager to delve into the intricacies of GSS bond issuance. Expert-led sessions provided comprehensive insights into the labeled bond universe, pre- and post-issuance processes, and country-specific contexts for GSS bond issuance.
Distinguished speakers such as Shri K Rajaraman, Chairperson of IFSCA, and Smt. Shalini Agrawal, IAS, Municipal Commissioner of Surat, emphasized the transformative potential of GSS instruments in driving sustainable urban development. This collaboration between NSE, IFC, and CBI signals a significant step towards integrating sustainability into corporate strategies and financial decision-making processes, ultimately propelling India towards a greener, more resilient future.
