The State Government has lifted the suspension of internet and data services in Ukhrul district and parts of Kangpokpi and Kamjong districts following an assessment of the current law and order conditions. The initial suspension was implemented in response to incidents of arson and communal riots in Ukhrul district. Internet and data services, including Broadband, VPN, and VSAT, were temporarily halted across the entirety of Ukhrul District for five days starting February 10 at 11:30 am, and similarly in the Lhungtin Sub-Division of Kangpokpi District and Phungyar Sub-Division of Kamjong District from February 10 at 5:30 pm. After evaluating the public’s difficulties due to this suspension, the Joint Secretary (Home) issued an order to revoke the internet service bans, instructing all internet service providers to adhere to this directive. The government also urged internet users to utilize services responsibly to prevent future suspensions that might arise in the public interest.
