Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (W/C, NNPG) has urged for a realistic timeline to resolve the prolonged Indo-Naga political issue, emphasizing that ongoing delays worsen the hardships for the populace and hinder societal progress. Following a joint consultation led by retired General MB Neokpao, senior leaders assessed critical challenges facing the Nagas and the evolving political landscape. W/C reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing an early and honorable resolution, advocating for inclusive political engagement among various Naga political factions and stakeholders to achieve a consolidated strategy for addressing the Indo-Naga issue comprehensively. The committee expressed gratitude to former interlocutor AK Mishra for his persistence amidst challenges in the peace process and expressed optimism about the new Government of India representative, Ajit Lal, enhancing the process. Additionally, W/C congratulated the Eastern Naga People’s Organisation (ENPO) on successfully executing the agreement with the Government for the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) and expressed hope for equitable development in the eastern region. It emphasized that this historically significant area in the Naga struggle should concentrate on achieving an early political settlement.
