National Science Day observed across districts

The observance of National Science Day was marked with spirited programs across Manipur, engaging hundreds of students in activities designed to foster scientific temper, creativity, and innovation. Organized under the aegis of the Assam Rifles, the celebrations unfolded across Tengnoupal, Ukhrul, and Thoubal Districts, transforming schools into vibrant centers of learning and inquiry, informed IGAR(S) in a press release.

In Tengnoupal District, interactive programs were conducted at Mount Moreh School, Chavangphai, B. Bongjang Primary School, Netaji School at Mission Veng, and the Battalion Headquarters. Around 120 to 190 students, including teachers, participated in discussions on the role of science in national development, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. The sessions encouraged analytical thinking and rational problem-solving, while a lively quiz competition at Netaji School saw enthusiastic participation, with winners receiving prizes for their commendable performance.

At Assam Rifles Public School in Shangshak, Ukhrul District, a drawing competition was organized to honor the legacy of Sir C.V. Raman. Forty students showcased their creativity through artistic interpretations of scientific concepts, highlighting the relevance of science in everyday life. The event provided a platform for originality and imagination, reinforcing the importance of science and technology in shaping the nation’s future, it said.

In Thoubal District, Langathel High School hosted Rashtriya Vigyan Diwas celebrations with a science competition that included extempore speeches on themes such as global warming, rainwater harvesting, and solar energy. Students also presented innovative project displays and practical models, with 67 participants demonstrating commendable scientific aptitude and creativity.

Together, these initiatives brought nearly 230 to 300 students into active participation, inspiring curiosity and innovation across diverse communities, it added.
