Nagaland, which attained statehood on December 1, 1963, marked the occasion with messages acknowledging its rich cultural heritage and continued progress in sustainable development.
In a social media post, President Droupadi Murmu wrote, “Warm greetings to the people of Nagaland on Statehood Day! Blessed with a rich culture and boundless natural beauty, Nagaland continues to make commendable strides in sustainable development.” Her message reflected appreciation for the state’s efforts to balance growth with the preservation of its unique traditions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his best wishes, praising the resilience and cultural diversity of the Naga people and wishing them prosperity and progress in the years ahead.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma joined national leaders in extending greetings, saying, “Warm greetings to my brothers & sisters in Nagaland on the state’s Foundation Day!” He highlighted the state’s vibrant cultures, proud traditions, and visible development in recent decades, expressing hope for continued harmony and economic advancement.
