Nagaland’s healthcare gets a boost with new Diagnostic Centre in Dimapur

A state-of-the-art Radio Diagnostic Centre was inaugurated at Dimapur District Hospital on January 21, marking a significant milestone in Nagaland’s healthcare infrastructure. The facility, launched under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Department of Health & Family Welfare and Tikvah Healthcare Private Limited (THPL), aims to make advanced diagnostic services accessible and affordable.

The new centre is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic tools, including advanced CT scanners, digital X-ray machines, and ultrasound devices. These technologies promise enhanced precision, reduced radiation exposure, and improved patient outcomes. Services are available round-the-clock, supported by an in-house radiologist to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses. Chief among the initiative’s benefits is affordability, with service costs slashed by 20–40% compared to private hospitals. Additionally, patients can avail themselves of benefits under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) and Ayushman Bharat, ensuring vulnerable groups have access to critical diagnostic care.

Future plans for the centre include introducing MRI technology, further cementing Dimapur’s status as a growing hub for medical excellence. Speaking on the occasion, officials highlighted the project’s role in bridging healthcare gaps in the region and enhancing accessibility for underserved communities.
