At the 35th Central Martyrs’ Day event on December 30, Temjen Imna Along, the Minister of Tourism for Nagaland, was presented with the esteemed Damchao Dimbeswar Gogoi Memorial Samannya Award. The All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU) Central Committee planned the event, which took place at the Sivasagar Girls’ College Auditorium in Assam. Minister Along conveyed his sincere gratitude for the acknowledgement and appreciation of the Sivasagar community’s gracious hospitality.
Emphasizing the importance of the ceremony, he said that being draped in traditional Tai Ahom clothing was a unique honor that contributed to its unforgettable quality. Temjen Imna Along, the minister of tourism for Nagaland, recently called for a speedy resolution to the 27-year-old Naga political dispute. Minister Along emphasized the progress the government has made this year, especially in tackling important issues like the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) problem in a proactive manner. He restated the government’s emphasis on Nagaland’s development and people’s empowerment.
He praised the Political Affairs Committee for facilitating the continued work toward the Naga political settlement and highlighted the crucial role played by civil society and the state administration. He said he hoped that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio would lead to a unified solution. Additionally, he praised the state government’s cooperation with its alliance partners, pointing out that their combined efforts are propelling the state’s overall growth. The minister expressed optimism that Nagaland would have a better and more prosperous future with this coordinated approach.
