The Nagaland Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and The MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project held a Media Conference on Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 (IMI 5.0). The event, attended by Dr. Ritu Thurr, MD NHM, Dr. Imkongtemsu, State Immunization Officer, and Ms Anumegha Bhatnagar, Risk Communications Lead MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity project, emphasized the importance of vaccinating eligible children and strengthening immunity against existing challenges.
The event attracted media representatives, health officials, and community stakeholders to support the success of IMI 5.0.IMI 5.0 aims to improve vaccination coverage by targeting populations excluded from routine vaccination efforts. The state has conducted training to reach unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children, aiming to provide life-saving vaccinations to all eligible children aged 0-5 years.
The initiative also aims to eliminate Measles and Rubella nationwide, ensuring every child under 5 completes the crucial two-dose schedule of MRCV. Dr. Ritu Thurr, MD NHM said, “Through the collaborative efforts of The MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project, our healthcare teams, and the support of our community, we are determined to create a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our children and foster a more resilient and healthier Nagaland.’’
