Nagaland Govt allocates Rs. 10 crore to support skill development, entrepreneurship, and education

The Nagaland government has set aside Rs. 10 crore under the Chief Minister’s Corpus Fund for the fiscal year 2024–2025 to support education, entrepreneurship, and skill development in the state as part of a significant development drive. According to official sources, 29 projects totaling more than Rs. 526 crore are under underway under the Nagaland Entrepreneurship and Investment Scheme (NEISIDS).

Furthermore, four ongoing projects totaling more than Rs. 376 crore have been approved under the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East (PM-DeVINE). In Nagaland’s many districts, the North Eastern Council is carrying out 74 projects in a variety of fields. It is anticipated that the most recent funding allocation will hasten regional development efforts even more. Governor La Ganesan gave an address yesterday to kick off the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly’s (NLA) sixth session.

Key policy talks, budgetary allocations, and legislative issues will be the main topics of the session, which is set to run until March 8. The Governor’s speech and obituary references kicked off the first day’s activities at 9:30 am. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was honored by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, while five former members—TA Ngullie, K Zungkun, Bendangangshi Ao, Mhavil Khieya, and Kejong Chang—were honored by Speaker Sharingain Longkumer.
