Nagaland governor honors Paralympic bronze medalist Hokato and TBD

At the 116th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio show “Mann Ki Baat,” which aired at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Sunday, Nagaland Governor La Ganesan congratulated Bronze medalists Hokato Hotzhe Sema and Team Better Dimapur (TBD) of the Summer Paris Paralympics 2024 for their outstanding community service efforts. It was a tremendous joy and privilege to honor and celebrate the spirit of devotion, perseverance, and persistence embodied by Team Better Dimapur and Naik Subedar Hokato Hotozhe Sema, the Governor said at the screening ceremony

According to the governor, Hokato H. Sema was not only an Indian Army commander and a sportsman but also a shining example of how adversity may lead to achievement. Ganesan remembered how Hokato honorably served his country in 2002 before losing his leg in an operation in Kashmir. The governor claimed that Hokato’s participation in the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, where he won a bronze medal for the nation in the shot-put competition, was evidence of his unwavering commitment and an inspiration to all.

As they actively promote cleanliness, environmental protection, and civic duty, Ganesan also praised Team Better Dimapur’s commendable efforts and stated that their dedication to community service goes well beyond this particular event. Hokato Hotzhe Sema, Bronze Medallist, Summer Paralympic 2024; Nuneseno Chase, Director of Youthnet; Bambi Kevichusa, Information Secretary, TBD; and Thungchanbemo Tungoe, CEO, DMC, gave brief speeches.
