Nagaland government reshuffles police department, promotes key officers

The Nagaland government has announced a significant reshuffle of its police department, involving transfers, promotions, and postings across various ranks. In a detailed notification, officers in roles such as Additional SP, Deputy Commandant (Dy. CO), Assistant Commandant (A/C), and Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) have been reassigned, with several also earning promotions.

Among the notable changes, T. Ado Yanlem has been appointed as Addl. SP Mon, while T. Relo Aye has been transferred to Dy. CO 15th IR. K. Soriso is now Addl. SP Kohima, and Vitoshi K. Sumi takes over as Addl. SP Wokha. Other key transfers include Ilam Lungalang to Dy. CO 2nd NAP and Limaonen to Dy. CO 4th NAP. Promotions include R. Dibambo Zeliang as Dy. CO 9th IR and Tekasosang Jamir as Dy. CO 8th NAP. Meanwhile, officers like Dr. Tiamenla Phom and Temsunochet Changkija have been assigned new roles to bolster administrative efficiency.

The government has emphasized that all handovers must be completed within seven days, stating no representations for retention or cancellation would be entertained. The reshuffle reflects the administration’s efforts to strengthen law enforcement and address emerging security challenges. It also highlights a focus on nurturing leadership within the Nagaland Police Department.
