The All India District Congress Committee (DCC) Presidents’ Meeting, organized by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) at Indira Bhawan, New Delhi, saw active participation from Nagaland, with eight DCC Presidents representing the state. The convention focused on strengthening the party at the grassroots level and addressing key socio-economic concerns.
Addressing the gathering, Dimapur District Congress Committee President Kutoho Chishi emphasized the need for a robust grassroots presence through enhanced training and resource allocation for booth-level agents. He stressed that electoral preparedness would be crucial in ensuring the party’s resurgence in the state.
Chishi also called for greater inclusivity within the party, urging the leadership to promote young leaders and women in decision-making roles. “A balanced and dynamic leadership is essential for effective governance and stronger party outreach,” he stated.
Another major issue raised was the growing unemployment crisis in Nagaland. Chishi highlighted the urgency of skill development and job creation initiatives, appealing to the Congress leadership to prioritize these issues at the national level. He advocated for policy interventions that would generate employment opportunities and boost economic growth in the state.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous resolution to implement the discussed strategies, strengthening coordination between state units and the central leadership. The Congress leadership reaffirmed its commitment to revitalizing the party’s presence in Nagaland, aiming for a stronger electoral performance in the upcoming elections.
