The annual Durga Puja festivities in Nagaland came to a close on Sunday with the traditional immersion of idols, known as Visarjan, at various river ghats, including the Dhansiri River. Over 51 idols of Goddess Durga were immersed in a vibrant and devotional atmosphere as hundreds of devotees gathered to witness the final rituals.
The streets were filled with colorful processions, traditional music, dance, and chants, as community members paid their last respects to the goddess. The Visarjan ceremony symbolizes Maa Durga’s return to her celestial home, carrying with her the hopes and prayers of devotees for peace and prosperity.
The immersion marked the conclusion of a festival celebrated with religious fervor and joy across the state.
