This unfortunate incident led to the untimely deaths of five members from the Chümoukedima Ao Baptist Church on the night of January 31, while they were returning from a revival programme in Mokokchung. In his statement, the Chief Minister has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased as an ex gratia payment. Furthermore, he has pledged financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to those who sustained serious injuries in the accident and has wished them a swift recovery. This incident has sharply highlighted the risks associated with travel and the need for enhanced safety measures.
