MSME training at NIT Meghalaya focuses on innovation and skill building

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya successfully hosted three five-day training programmes sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) from March 10 to March 14 at its Shohra campus.

The programmes were inaugurated by Chief Guest Satinder K. Bhalla, Deputy Director General of the Department of Telecommunications, and Guest of Honour Bijit Goswami, Executive Director (Tech-Operation & Maintenance) of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO). The sessions were conducted under the leadership of NIT Meghalaya Director Prof. Pinakeswar Mahanta.

The training focused on three key areas:

Advanced Management Development – Data Science and AI for Management Development
Entrepreneurial Skill Development Programme (ESDP) – Awareness and training in solid waste management, with a focus on entrepreneurship and women’s skill development in Northeast India
Advanced Entrepreneurial Skill Development Programme (AESDP) – 3D Modeling and 3D Printing
Expert speakers from IIT, IIM, NIFT, NEHU, and industry leaders delivered insightful lectures, drawing professionals from across the country.

The programme concluded with a valedictory session, where Prof. Sreedeep S. delivered the closing remarks, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in fostering innovation and skill development. NIT Meghalaya expressed gratitude to MSME, esteemed speakers, and participants for their contributions to the successful event.
