As part of the “Mahila Jan Sunwai” initiative running from March 9 to 13 to celebrate International Women’s Day, the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) hosted public hearings across five districts: Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Tengnoupal, and Chandel. This initiative aims to enhance accessible and timely grievance redressal for women. Significant participation was recorded, with women presenting concerns about their safety, rights, and dignity. Throughout the hearings, the MSCW addressed all 31 complaints on-site, providing immediate resolutions. Notices were issued for six cases, and directives were given to the police for inquiries on related matters. Additionally, legal experts and counselors offered support to complainants, facilitating legal aid to ensure rapid delivery of justice.
