MPCC expands candidate list to 47 for February ADC elections

The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has added two more candidates for the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections, scheduled for February 21, 2025. This brings the party’s total number of candidates to 47. The latest additions are Tailin Lyngkhoi for Pariong Mawthadraishan in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jesperson Bamon for Sutnga Narwan in the Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).

Previously, on January 14, the MPCC announced three additional candidates: Pynbiangmi Laloo for Mowkaiaw, Brosent Siangshai for Musniang-Rangad, and Bashan Tangliang for Sumer.

The elections, approved by Meghalaya Governor CH Vijayashankar, are crucial for the governance of the KHADC and JHADC regions. Congress is gearing up to challenge its rivals, aiming for a strong presence in both councils.
