Famous star batter of Australia Mitchell Marsh who played very well in World Cup final against India was seen posing with his feet atop the World Cup trophy after the match. The picture appeared to be taken in the Australian dressing room just after the team made a historic win against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Actually the image was shared by Australian captain Pat Cummins in his Instagram stories showed Marsh resting on a couch and stretching his legs. The feet were resting right on top of the trophy.
Australia and India played the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final match on November 19 just after 20 years the two teams had last featured in the final of ICC ODI WORLD CUP. Australia had bowled first and restricted India to a below par score of 240 and chased it in 43 overs and 6 wickets in hand. This made Australia six time winner of this title. Many people who have seen this image found very disrespectful as for this trophy 10 national teams had battled very hard for nearly the last month and a half. No doubt Australia had worked very hard to win this trophy but this type of gesture is very shameful and disrespectful. They should correct it and play cricket with better spirit.
