Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship aims to foster a dynamic workforce in India

‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ aims to create a fully developed nation by India’s 100th year of independence. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is aiming to create a dynamic workforce in India’s rapidly evolving economy by implementing a roadmap to equip trainers from short-term and long-term skilling ecosystems with the necessary skills and technology to help learners compete in the future market.

The MSDE’s Future Right Skills Network has developed a “Trainer Development Strategy for the Skilling Ecosystem,” recommending the integration of digital blended content into classroom learning using digital tools and resources for 21st-century educators. Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said, “I firmly believe efforts such as these will consolidate on the good work that the Ministry is doing and will strengthen the ecosystem further.”

The drafting of the trainer development strategy has been facilitated by Quest Alliance and supported by FRSN, a collaboration between Accenture, Cisco, J.P. Morgan, and SAP. The initiative aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of trainers across sectors. The strategy aims to address staffing and training capacity gaps, the shortage of qualified trainers in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector, and reduce attrition due to irregular employment, limited career advancement opportunities, and low-pay.
