Microsoft and MSDE collaborate to teach young people digital and cybersecurity skills

To boost the efforts under the Skill India Mission, the Directorate General of Training (DGT), under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft. In order to train students and teachers at government-run ITIs and NSTIs.  Microsoft will offer courses in AI, cloud computing, web development, and cybersecurity for nearly 6,000 students and 200 faculty members. It will empower youth in India with future-ready skills.

This training will empower young students with industry-relevant skills, enhancing their employability and connecting them to relevant job opportunities. It will also include deep-dive sessions, multifaceted capstone projects, and Train-the-Trainer workshops to empower faculty members on AI fluency and fundamentals, cloud computing, web development, Power BI, and soft skills. The CyberShikshaa program will also be expanded to 10 NSTIs for women.

Jean-Philippe Courtois, executive vice president, and president, of National Transformation Partnerships, Microsoft, said, “ Together, we can build an inclusive future for the young leaders of tomorrow and unlock the full potential of the country’s workforce through this sustainable flywheel of skilling and employment.”
