MG Windsor tops India’s EV charts in 2025 with 46,735 units sold

JSW MG Motor India has reported a landmark performance for the MG Windsor, which has been declared India’s No. 1 selling electric vehicle of 2025. The company sold over 46,735 units during the calendar year, becoming the first OEM in India to achieve this milestone with a single EV model. The Windsor also maintained the highest month-on-month EV sales through 2025, averaging nearly 4,000 units monthly. JSW MG Motor India closed the year with 19% overall growth and an impressive 111% surge in EV sales compared to 2024, while Windsor sales alone rose over 20% in Q4 2025 versus Q4 2024.
The company attributes the Windsor’s success to strong demand from family buyers, citing its spacious interiors, comfort, technology and feature-rich cabin. Managing Director Anurag Mehrotra said the Windsor has “redefined the EV segment” and accelerated EV adoption among hesitant buyers.
In Bhubaneswar, the Windsor’s popularity mirrors a gradual but steady shift toward EV ownership in Odisha’s capital. Dealers report rising showroom interest driven by urban commuters seeking long-term fuel savings, supported by expanding charging infrastructure and improving roadway connectivity.
Positioned as India’s first intelligent CUV, the Windsor offers up to 449 km range, a 15.6-inch touch display, business-class seating and a flexible battery-as-a-service price starting at ₹9.99 lakh plus usage charges.
