Three hundred units of the beautiful Ryndia stoles have been exported to Singapore, providing much-needed support to the state’s textile industry and highlighting the tireless work of women entrepreneurs and artisans. Meghalayan Age Limited has made the important move to make it easier to ship to the Singapore market in an effort to expand the reach of the Meghalaya brand internationally. The simple, yet elegant attire which is reputed as a distinguished One District One Product (ODOP) from Ri Bhoi district, is known as ‘Peace silk’ or ‘Ahimsa silk’.
The Ryndia silk will be presented as door gifts at the Republic Day reception by the High Commission of India in Singapore. Taking to social media, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said, “This achievement is a testament to the hard work, talent, and dedication of our artisans and entrepreneurs. Together, we continue to showcase the beauty of Meghalaya to the world.”
