Meghalaya Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh distributed educational tablets to Class XI students at a ceremony held at U Soso Tham Auditorium on Wednesday, marking a significant step towards integrating technology into education. Fifteen students from various schools in East Khasi Hills District were handed PC tablets, known as MTABs, during the event. This marks the initial phase of a broader initiative to provide digital learning tools to students across the state, starting with the 2023-24 academic year.
Deputy Commissioner R.M. Kurbah welcomed the attendees, while IT Commissioner and Secretary Pravin Bakshi delivered the keynote address, highlighting the transformative role of technology in education.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lyngdoh underscored the importance of equipping students with digital tools to enhance learning and prepare them for future challenges. “Access to technology will open doors to better opportunities and empower our students to excel in a competitive world,” she said.
