The Meghalaya Ministry of Health & Family Welfare organized a State Media Sensitization Conference on Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI 5.0) in collaboration with The MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project. The event aimed to sensitize the media before the launch of IMI 5.0 and emphasize the importance of vaccinating all eligible children and enhancing immunity amidst existing challenges. The event featured prominent media representatives, health officials, and community stakeholders, all united in supporting the success of IMI 5.0. IMI 5.0 focuses on populations with barriers and aims to vaccinate children and eligible pregnant women excluded from routine immunization activities.
The state has conducted comprehensive training at different levels, emphasizing the importance of reaching unvaccinated and partially vaccinated individuals and including them in the immunization program. IMI 5.0 prioritizes children aged 0 to 5 years who have not received any vaccines, with the ultimate objective of providing life-saving vaccinations to all eligible children.
