Meghalaya deputy CM sends Rs 100 crore defamation notice to Vincent H. Pala

Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has served a Rs 100 crore defamation notice to Congress leader and MPCC president Vincent H. Pala. The lawsuit demands an apology for Pala’s remarks during a press conference on August 22, where he accused Dhar of being the “spokesperson” of the RSS and BJP and under investigation by the CBI.

The notice, issued by Dhar’s legal team, termed Pala’s statements as “malicious” and “falsehoods” aimed at tarnishing Dhar’s public image. It demands a public apology, withdrawal of the remarks, and Rs 100 crore in damages for the defamation. Failure to comply within seven days will result in legal action, the notice warned.
