The youngest of five siblings, she credits her parents—both schoolteachers—for instilling in her the values of education and discipline. Her father, Semrongsing A. Sangma, and mother, Joshilline Ch. Marak stood as a pillars of support throughout her arduous journey. Her path was marked by challenges that would have discouraged many. In 2022, she cleared the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam but fell short of passing the Mains by just 37 marks.
