Medtronic, a leader in medical technology, inaugurated its first large-scale Global IT (GIT) Center outside the United States at the Medtronic Engineering & Innovation Center (MEIC) in Hyderabad. The event was graced by Shri D. Sridhar Babu, Minister of IT, Industries, and Commerce, Government of Telangana, and U.S. Consul General, Ms. Jennifer Larson.
Medtronic’s investment of $60 million over the next 3-5 years will create 300 jobs, focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as Cloud Engineering, AI/ML, and Digital Health applications. The GIT Center aims to leverage India’s rich talent pool to enhance productivity and drive growth in healthcare technology.”The launch of this center underscores the vibrant innovation ecosystem in Telangana,” said Minister Sridhar Babu. “Medtronic’s expansion highlights our progressive policies and commitment to the medical technology sector.”
