Massive arms cache seized in Manipur during ongoing security operations

In a decisive effort to bolster peace and security, security forces in Manipur have intensified search operations and area domination exercises across the state’s hill and valley districts. These operations, aimed at securing vulnerable regions, led to the recovery of a substantial cache of arms and explosives in Kangpokpi District.

The recoveries were made from L. Jangnomphai and Freedom Hill areas, including a diverse array of weaponry and communication devices:

1 Self-Loading Rifle (7.62 mm)
1 Pistol (9 mm)
1 Single-Barrel firearm
1 Double-Barrel firearm
1 Pompi Gun
4 Hand Grenades (No. 36)
4 Stardyne 90 Explosives

4 Electric Detonators
5 live 9 mm rounds
3 live 7.62 mm rounds
1 Tube Launcher
3 Detonators (Hand Grenade No. 36)
1 Baofeng Motorola communication set
4 Anti-Riot Shells
The seizures underscore ongoing efforts to address security challenges in the region.

In addition to the arms haul, security forces have ensured the safe passage of 374 vehicles carrying essential commodities along National Highway-2 (NH-2), a critical lifeline for the state. Enhanced measures, including the deployment of security convoys along sensitive stretches, have been implemented to protect vehicular movement from potential threats.

To further reinforce security, 106 checkpoints have been established across the state, covering both hill and valley regions. These checkpoints form part of a comprehensive strategy to uphold law and order. While no arrests or detentions have been reported during these operations, authorities remain vigilant against any violations or threats.
