Market indices are up since morning

The market started in the green zone. Major indices rose as markets opened on Wednesday morning. However, there was no significant increase. At 9:16 am today, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex was up about 0.08 percent, or 65.92 points, at 79021.95. Meanwhile, the National Stock Exchange’s index Nifty was up about 0.02 percent, or 4.40 points, at 24143.40.

The Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices were up around 0.08 percent today. Nifty Bank, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty Pharma, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Realty, Nifty Media, Nifty Energy, Nifty Private Bank, Nifty Consumer Durables, Nifty Healthcare, and Nifty Oil & Gas indices witnessed declines on the day. These indices declined by 0.07, 0.08, 0.13, 0.09, 0.30, 0.17, 0.05, 0.14, 0.06, 0.07, and 0.01 percent, respectively. Nifty Auto, Nifty IT, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Metal, Nifty Commodities, Nifty Consumption, Nifty PSE, and Nifty Services sector indices rose today. These indices rose by 0.37, 0.24, 0.36, 0.17, 0.01, 0.06, 0.12, and 0.06 percent, respectively. On the other hand, the India VIX index declined by around 0.19 percent.

Top gainers in the market on Wednesday included stocks of PB Fintech, EPL, SJVN, Chennai Petroleum Corporation, Phillips Carbon, V-Guard Industries, RatanIndia Enterprises, Sonata Software, Samvardhana Motherson International, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises, Vodafone Idea, Prestige Estates Projects, and Scient.

Any company’s shares have suffered?
Losers on the day included Piramal Enterprises, HEG, MTAR Technologies, BEML, Hero Motocorp, Suzlon Energy, Ratnamoni Metals & Tubes, SKF India, The Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore, Keynes Technology India, Gujarat Pipavav Port, DV’s Laboratories, and eClerx Services. 

It is reported that the share prices of HCL Tech, M&M, Tata Motors, SBI, Tech Mahindra, and Bharti Airtel in the Sensex increased on this day. On the other hand, Nykaa released its results for the first quarter of 2024-25 yesterday. The stock rose sharply in morning trade.
