The North-Eastern Skill & Entrepreneurship Conclave, ‘Manthan 2023’ was inaugurated by Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics and Information Technology, and Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for Education and External Affairs. This event, held in Guwahati, Assam, from September 1 to September 3, serves as a platform for collaboration and convergence in skilling and entrepreneurship efforts in India’s northeastern region.
The Conclave brings together various stakeholders, including ministries, state governments, academia, industry associations, institutions, policymakers, corporations, and beneficiaries, to discuss skill and entrepreneurship development in the North-East. Key objectives include disseminating MSDE’s vision for the region, deliberating on the benefits of MSDE’s special package for the North Eastern Region (NER), and strengthening regional networks while fostering innovation in skill and entrepreneurship development.The event reaffirms MSDE’s commitment to skill development and entrepreneurship, particularly focusing on empowering the region’s youth. It also explores the entrepreneurship ecosystem, financial support, livelihood opportunities, and the emerging startup culture in the North-East, aiming to promote synergy and cooperation among stakeholders.
On the first day of the Conclave, MSDE launched three residential skill training programs in electric vehicle service, solar panel installation, and electrical technician roles, as part of a strategic partnership between the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) and IIT Guwahati.Overall, the Manthan Conclave seeks to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the North-East through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the exploration of innovative strategies in skilling and entrepreneurship development.
