Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has called on the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to expedite ongoing highway projects across the state, underscoring the critical need to adhere to deadlines for their timely completion. In a statement issued by Raj Bhavan, MS Deval, Executive Director of NHIDCL, briefed the Governor on the progress of several national highway projects under development in various parts of Manipur.
Deval provided a comprehensive update on the scope of these projects, emphasizing their potential to enhance connectivity and boost the state’s infrastructure. Deval also highlighted significant challenges faced by NHIDCL, including the region’s difficult terrain, logistical complexities, and delays stemming from environmental and social factors. Despite these hurdles, the organization remains committed to overcoming obstacles and ensuring project completion within the stipulated timeframe.
