To enhance financial security for its officers, Manipur Police has inked a deal with the State Bank of India (SBI) to provide accident insurance coverage of up to Rs 1 crore for its personnel. The agreement, signed on October 24, marks a major milestone in safeguarding the financial well-being of the state’s law enforcement officers.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by IGP (Administration) Konsam Jayanta and SBI Regional Manager Khumukcham Okendra Singh at the office of the Director General of Police. DGP Rajiv Singh witnessed the ceremony, underscoring the importance of this initiative. The newly introduced salary package offers extensive financial benefits, including an additional insurance coverage of Rs 10 lakhs, along with exclusive services tailored for police families. This comprehensive package is the first of its kind for Manipur Police.
Senior officials from both the police department and SBI were present at the event, highlighting the strategic collaboration between the state’s law enforcement agency and India’s largest public sector bank.
