Manipur Police intercepted a large cargo of illegal booze in separate raids on Wednesday and Thursday. The activities took place in the Churachandpur district of the state. Churachandpur Police have increased their control over the sale and consumption of liquor in the district. Churachandpur Police teams conducted operations that resulted in the recovery of a substantial quantity of IMFL and DIC liquor. The seizure was made in the town neighborhood of the district headquarters of Churachandpur, and the recovered whiskey is estimated to be worth Rs 1.58 lakhs.
According to sources, the seizure occurred on Wednesday afternoon from five dealers from five localities, while the police conducted the seizure in the Tuibuang Bazar region on Thursday. The seized products included considerable quantities of whisky, rum, beer, and distilled indigenous nation. The officials apparently disposed of the seized liquor on Thursday. It should be emphasized that the district administration has taken a very hard stance on booze sales and is taking appropriate measures against individuals found to be engaged.
