The vehicle traveled through Manipur, Assam, and Meghalaya.
The Military Council of the KCP (PWG), which has been banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, in a statement claimed that Rahim was running his drug trade using his political influence. One of his close associates is Hefaj Uddin, the KCP (PWG) claimed.
Hefaj Uddin was arrested on July 22, 2023, in connection with the seizure of drugs, reportedly valued at Rs 5 crore, from a Maruti Swift Dzire bearing the registration number AS02 CP0942.
A case registered under the NDPS Act is said to be currently under trial before the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Karbi Anglong.
The KCP (PWG) said a separate case, involving the seizure of heroin weighing 207 grams and worth approximately Rs 14 crore, along with 50,000 YABA tablets weighing about 4.8 kgs, was also filed.
The contraband was reportedly intercepted by Guwahati Police from an ambulance bearing the registration number MN03 C 0037.
According to the outfit, the arrested individual in that case was identified as Mirajaul Islam, also known as Mirajaul Ali, from Rajabala in Meghalaya. The drugs, destined for Bangladesh, were reportedly being transported from Manipur through Meghalaya and Assam.
