Manipur girls make history in COHSEM 2025 results

The Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) on Friday declared the results of the Higher Secondary Examination 2025, with an overall pass percentage of 94%. Female candidates emerged as top performers, securing leading ranks across all streams—Science, Commerce, and Arts. Girls claimed all three top positions in the Science and Commerce streams, while also bagging the first and third ranks in Arts. In terms of overall pass percentage, female candidates once again outshone their male counterparts, recording 96.86% in private schools and 91.51% in government schools. Male candidates followed with 95.79% and 88.47%, respectively.

In Science, Riya Khwairakpam of COMET School topped the stream, followed by Mediciana Moirangthem (Herbert School) and Silvia Lukram (COMEG School). Commerce stream saw a clean sweep by students of TG Higher Secondary School, with Warepam Lidia Devi securing the top spot, and Yaiphabi Sapam in second place. Devia Mayengbam and Prithita Yumnam shared the third rank. Enlighten Higher Secondary School students dominated the Arts stream. Keisham Hannah Devi stood first, followed by Harsh Maisnam and Sagolsem Inunganbi Chanu.

COHSEM Chairman T. Ojit Singh informed that 28,909 out of 29,065 enrolled students appeared for the exams, and 27,175 passed. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the state’s ongoing unrest but praised the cooperation received from all quarters. Practical exams were conducted early, and nodal officers ensured smooth operations in all districts.
