Manipur authorities remove tints from 400 cars, seize black film rolls

In a bid to enforce vehicle tinting laws and enhance regional security, Manipur Police have intensified their crackdown on black film sellers and illegal vehicle modifications. Over the past five days, tints from more than 400 cars in Imphal East have been removed, and dozens of black film rolls have been seized from car accessory shops.

Police officials, through their official X handle, urged shop owners to surrender any remaining black film rolls to nearby police stations and advised car owners to remove the tints voluntarily. Non-compliance will attract strict legal action under the Supreme Court’s 2011 ruling (CWP 265/2011) and Section 100(2) of the Motor Vehicle Act.

Meanwhile, in a separate security operation, authorities seized a cache of arms, explosives, and other materials from a riverbank at Hiyanglam Natekhong Thongjin in Kakching district. Recovered items included multiple firearms, hand grenades, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), live ammunition, and communication equipment.
