Security forces on Sunday arrested from Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, identified as Hefajuddin Mayangmayum (42) of Komlakhong Makha Leikai, Imphal West district along with 1.002 kg contraband opium.
A mobile phone, an Aadhaar card, and an ATM card were also seized from him.
On the same day, security forces arrested, from Laipham Khunou Mayai Leikai under Lamphel-PS, Imphal West district, Sagolshem Boicha Singh (42) @ Tayai of Sawombung Gate, Imphal East district, along with illegal arms and ammunition.
A .32 pistol along with two magazines and ten rounds, a mobile phone, and an Aadhaar card were recovered from him.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested one Kishan Chauhan, 29, of Moreh Bus Parking, Ngamkhai Veng Moreh, from inside the building of UCO Bank, Moreh.
The arrested person had broken into the bank and attempted to steal AC, sound box equipment, electric batteries, etc. An audio sound box and an AC that were stolen earlier were recovered.
Meanwhile, a total of 115 Nakas/checkpoints were installed in different districts, both in the hills and the valley; however, none were detained.
Manipur Police appealed to the public not to believe in rumors and be vigilant of false videos, saying that the veracity of any circulation of unfounded videos, audio clips, etc. may be confirmed from the number 9233522822 of the Central Control Room. Moreover, there are possibilities of many fake posts being circulated on social media. It is hereby cautioned that uploading and circulation of such fake posts on social media will attract legal action with consequences, it said.
It also appealed to the public to return the looted arms, ammunition, and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
