Mahindra Tractors gears up to ramp-up production of the OJA 2130 series, based on its future-ready range of OJA tractors

Mahindra Tractors, part of the Mahindra Group, has announced plans to ramp up production of its OJA 2130 tractor series in anticipation of higher demand in the upcoming agricultural season. The new range, positioned in the 30 HP category, includes the OJA 2130 – PROJA variant, the OJA 2130 with larger 9.5×18 tyres, and the OJA 2130 Narrow Track with Forward and Reverse (FR) Shuttle. The company said the OJA 2130 series has been purpose-built to enhance productivity, comfort and cost-effectiveness for Indian farmers. The tractors come with standard 4WD, a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio, and compatibility with a wide range of implements, making them suitable for horticulture, vineyards, intercultural farming, sugarcane and cotton cultivation. The tractors are powered by a three-cylinder DI engine delivering 83.7 Nm torque with strong fuel efficiency and lugging ability.

Mahindra said the OJA platform improves performance and user experience through advanced features such as electronic draft and depth control (EDDC), a 950 kg lift capacity at hitch point, best-in-class turning radius and high ground clearance. Industry-first automation controls, tilt and telescopic steering, and side-shift controls are also aimed at improving operator comfort and efficiency during long working hours. Parikshit Ghosh, Head – Sales, Marketing and National Business Operations at Mahindra Tractors, said the company expects increased demand for the OJA 2130 series as farmers look for technology-driven solutions to improve productivity in crops such as horticulture, sugarcane and cotton. He added that the new tractors reinforce Mahindra’s leadership in the 21–30 HP segment.

The OJA 2130 PROJA variant has been designed for high productivity with features such as FR shuttle for easier manoeuvrability, creeper mode for ultra-low speed precision tasks like seed sowing, and powerful projector lamps for 24/7 operations. The tractor also includes a Wet Electric PTO for consistent implement performance and a 3DI engine delivering smooth operation and high torque. The OJA 2130 Narrow Track with FR Shuttle is designed for crops requiring tight row spacing. With a narrow track width of 914 mm and compact tyres, the tractor is suited for crops like sugarcane, cotton, banana and orchard farming. It features an 8 forward and 8 reverse gearbox to enable frequent direction changes and improved efficiency during field operations.

Meanwhile, the OJA 2130 with larger 9.5×18 tyres has been developed as a versatile all-rounder for varied farm conditions. With enhanced stability, better traction and an 8 forward plus 4 reverse gear configuration, the tractor is designed to handle both haulage and field operations smoothly.

The new tractor range could see strong interest in semi-urban and rural agricultural trading hubs such as Krishnanagar, where farmers and equipment dealers are closely watching new farm machinery launches ahead of the sowing cycle. Dealers in the Krishnanagar market believe tractors that offer fuel efficiency, compact size and versatility for crops like sugarcane and horticulture are likely to attract buyers during the upcoming season.
