Amar Ujala’s highest award, ‘Akashdeep’, will be given to Vinod Kumar Shukla in Hindi ‘Akashdeep’ and M.T. Vasudevan Nair, a writer-film director of Malayalam in non-Hindi languages. MT Vasudevan Nair, born in Kerala in 1933, has been recognized for his significant contributions to Malayalam modern art and literature, while Vinod Kumar Shukla, born in 1937, will be honored for his unique contributions to Hindi writing.
In the words of M.T. Vasudevan Nair, he stated, “I gather experiences like the way children gather beautiful stones to fill their pockets, and these moments later find their way into my writing.” Adding to that, Vinod Kumar Shukla, asserted, “I find clarity in the chaos of words. Writing is an endless endeavor, and I consider it a responsibility.”
The program has included Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Oriya, and Hindi languages, with Malayalam being selected this year. The Akashdeep award, the highest honor for literary sages in Hindi and other Indian languages, is presented to the best works of the year. The award includes an amount of Rs 5 lakh each, a citation and the Ganga statue as a symbol.
