Long-Awaited Moirang–Wangoo Road Project to Take Off Soon, Says CM

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh announced the commencement of construction for the Moirang to Wangoo road via Kumbi within 15 days during a reception at the residence of MLA Sanasam Premchandra Singh in Bishnupur district. He expressed the government’s commitment to state development, stating that construction on the Napat Bridge would begin the following day and is anticipated to be finished within five days. The Chief Minister instructed Bishnupur’s Deputy Commissioner, Pooja Elangbam, to report on the progress of prefabricated housing for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area.

The Chief Minister received a warm welcome from Thanga Assembly Constituency residents, led by MLA T. Robindro Singh, in Kairenphabi. He promised to address the grievances of the Thanga AC residents and assured them of government support in their development endeavors. Attendees included the Superintendent of Police, Bishnupur, Th. Shangkar Deba, along with community members from both the Kumbi and Thanga constituencies.

On social media platforms like X and Facebook, Chief Minister Khemchand expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted two meetings with party leaders and Karyakartas during his visit to the Kumbi and Thanga constituencies. These meetings, held near the residences of MLAs S. Premchandra Singh and T. Robindro Singh, focused on enhancing grassroots connections and organizational unity. He emphasized the need for a systematic cleanup of phumdis in Loktak Lake to protect the communities that depend on it for their livelihoods and ensure ecological sustainability.

Khemchand reaffirmed his commitment to improving connectivity through the construction of bridges and the enhancement of road infrastructure to further the vision of a developed India and a prosperous Manipuri state, as envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. He expressed satisfaction with the increase in party membership and acknowledged the commitment of new Karyakartas as vital for their collective mission. The discussions centered on key infrastructure and development priorities for both constituencies, reinforcing the resolve to work diligently for the welfare and progress of the residents.
