The Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur, has extended a financial assistance of ₹15,000 to Heirangkhongjam Sandhyarani Devi of Mayeng Lamjao, Kakching district, who is currently undergoing medical treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal.
As part of its ongoing humanitarian initiative to support needy families, LMG Manipur handed over the monetary assistance to the patient herself at JNIMS on Monday.
Sandhyarani Devi, daughter of Ibomcha Singh, has been struggling with life with her sole young daughter, and they have been facing financial hardship due to her prolonged illness. Upon learning about her condition and the economic difficulties of her family, members of the group came forward to provide support.
While receiving the assistance, Sandhyarani expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the members of LMG Manipur for their timely help.
It is reported that she and her young daughter are currently struggling due to the financial burden caused by medical expenses.
The assistance was handed over in the presence of LMG Manipur Secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam, Treasurer Kunjeshwor Mangsatabam, Assistant Secretary Surendra Ningomba, and members Surjit Ngangomcha, Suni Nongthonbam, Joykumar Thokchom, and Boinao Maibam.
Speaking at the occasion, Secretary Ojit Sorokhaibam stated that in times of hardship and illness, society must come together to extend support to those in need. He emphasized that collective assistance during difficult times strengthens humanity and fosters unity within the community.
