The Liberation War Gallery of 1971 was inaugurated at the Indian Cultural Centre of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka. Asaduzzaman Khan, the Bangladeshi Home Minister, and Pranay Verma, the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, were present for the opening of the Liberation War Gallery of 1971.
Freedom warriors, Bir Muktijodhas, and notable visitors all attended the opening program. The Gallery, which includes images and records from the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, serves as a tribute to the camaraderie between India and Bangladesh. It pays tribute to the millions who lost their lives in the battle.
Asaduzzaman Khan recalled the sacrifice of Indian soldiers and the support provided by the people of India to 10 million refugees during the freedom struggle. The program concluded with songs and a dance drama about the friendship between India and Bangladesh. High Commissioner Pranay Verma highlighted the significance of the 1971 Liberation War for both countries, underlining the spirit of friendship and solidarity that guided India’s support for Bangladesh’s independence. The gallery will highlight the shared commitment to preserve and celebrate the spirit of 1971.
