The first edition of the NE Tech Summit 2024, held at RCEMPA, Jotsoma, Kohima, has set the stage for a new era of technological innovation in Northeast India. Organized by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) in collaboration with the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC), the summit brought together policymakers, entrepreneurs, students, and industry leaders to explore the region’s potential in shaping the global tech landscape.
The event was inaugurated by Shri. SethrongkyuSangtam, Advisor, Department of IT & Communication (DITC), Government of Nagaland, who highlighted the region’s untapped opportunities to emerge as a hub for technological growth. Shri.Arvind Kumar, Director General of STPI, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the transformative role of AI and innovation in empowering Northeast India. He stressed that the rise of deep-tech startups and government initiatives like the PLI scheme could position Nagaland as a key player in India’s digital and manufacturing sectors.
In Kohima, local entrepreneurs are increasingly looking to leverage these emerging tech trends, with a growing interest in digital startups. The summit has sparked excitement among young professionals, eager to contribute to the region’s technological transformation.
