Police in the Dima Hasao district of Assam have made significant arrests in connection with a kidnapping case and a related firing incident. On March 7, a police team led by Officer-in-Charge Himanshu Borgohain apprehended Suresh Kherksha, also known as Harish Chandra, a 42-year-old local resident from Harichandrapur. Kherksha is alleged to be involved in the kidnapping of a truck driver on April 25, 2025, in the Longkhor area. Additionally, he is connected to a shooting that occurred in Dikhakhor on February 16, 2026. Authorities reported that the district police had been actively searching for Kherksha for nearly a year before his capture. Furthermore, another individual, Hamchen Dibragade, aged 41 and residing in Faidin, has also been arrested in relation to the case. The police continue to pursue leads within this investigation to ensure public safety and address criminal activities in the region.
