Kia India celebrates 1 million ‘Make in India’ units with New Seltos

Kia India has dispatched one million vehicles from its Anantapur facility, marking the production commencement of the new Seltos SUV. The innovative vehicle features a new-age design, 32 safety features, and a panoramic sunroof. It will be available for pre-bookings in India starting July 14, 2023. This achievement highlights Kia’s commitment to the Indian market and the success of its strategic approach.

Kia India aims to increase organic growth by strengthening brand affinity among new-age customers through community and employee development initiatives. Project DROP focuses on plastic waste reduction, while Uphaar supports marginalized agrarian communities and combats climate change. Kia’s ‘Lifestyle Management’ program offers employees guidance and support for their well-being.

The company entered the Indian market with the launch of the Seltos in 2019, and expanded its product portfolio with the Carnival, Sonet, Carens, and EV6 in 2020. The state-of-the-art Kia facility in Anantapur has manufactured over 532,450 units of Seltos, Sonet, Carens, and Carnival. Unveiling the 1 millionth car, Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India, said, “We will remain dedicated to driving innovation, pushing boundaries, and shaping the future of mobility in India.”
