Justice Khanna took oath as the 51st Chief Justice

On Monday, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, who has contributed to a number of significant Supreme Court rulings, including the repeal of the electoral bonds program and the affirmation of Article 370’s 

After Chandrachud’s recommendation on October 16, the Center formally announced Justice Khanna’s appointment on October 24. Judges, attorneys, and staff from the high courts and the highest court gave Justice Chandrachud a heartfelt send-off on Friday, his last day of work as CJI. He will take the oath of office as India’s 51st Chief Kejriwal. At Rasthtapati Bhavan, president Droupadi Murmu will administrater the oath of office.

He has been a Supreme Court judge since January 2019 and has contributed to a number of historic rulings, including those that uphold the integrity of EVMs, abolish the electoral bonds program, uphold the repeal of Article 370, and grant interim bail to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
