Joint Forces Uproot 53 Acres of Poppy Plantation in Koubru Reserve Forest, Kangpokpi

A joint operation conducted by Manipur Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Forest Department, and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) resulted in the destruction of 53 acres of poppy cultivation in the hill ranges of Moljol, Tusam, Vaichei-Naphai, and nearby areas in the Kangpokpi district. As part of this eradication effort, authorities destroyed seven huts, 11 bags of fertilizers, 23 packs of herbicides, 14 bags of salt, and various cultivation equipment, such as spray pumps and pipes. Additionally, to tackle the illegal installation of modified silencers on motorcycles, the Manipur Police destroyed 23 modified silencer pipes seized in Churachandpur over the previous two days. This destruction took place at the Churachandpur Police Station with media present to witness the event.
